I was also going broke—but it made no sense. Things were getting harder and harder, not easier, like they’re supposed to. That’s when I decided that I had a few choices
- Go bankrupt
- Change careers and give up a career that I really enjoyed
- Keep my career and learn how to make things easier for myself
I chose the latter.
I turned my career around by committing to learning what made other construction companies succeed. So I decided to sell my business and take a position with the one of the largest mechanical companies in the US. At that point, I committed to learn what made the top performers, top performers in character and ability. I learned that it wasn’t their technical expertise or their education level that made them successful--it was their commitment to deliver services that exceeded their customers’ expectations. They didn’t try to do 1000 different things a few times. They did a few things a thousand times. They did a few important things consistently and they mastered them. They mastered them by streamlining them and making them easy!! It was a pivotal moment for me. Business can be easy! I took that philosophy and ran with it.
As a result:
In 2006 one of my projects, won the Associated Builders and Contractors national award for excellence in construction and I have been interviewed in Construction Executive magazine about the project.
- I have helped people like you systemize their forms, and formats, streamlining their daily business activities—all of which had a significant impact on their business. People who have learned and use these forms and formats succeed because business is now easy for them!
- I have also written a book entitled, “The Secrets to Successful Contracting: How to Start, Operate and Grow a successful contracting Business,” which you can pick up by going to the products tab on the home page.
It does NOT have to be hard! I am so excited to be bringing this to you because you do NOT have to have the struggles I had. You can succeed, easily, and nothing would bring me greater pleasure than to see you build and grow and incredibly successful contracting business. I want you to be happy, as I am, and improve your life--and the lives of others.
I truly believe that success happens by doing whatever it takes to succeed. But for too many people, “whatever it takes” means struggling. If you’re not careful, you’ll do the same thing.
I really enjoy building and fixing things, like you do. But I think my real gift lies in solving problems and making things easier for others. If my material helps you solve just one of your business problems, or allows you to do even one thing easier and faster, I have fulfilled my purpose.
